Allen Murray, Director of Intervention Services for NRCRES, represented the center at the Legislative Forum sponsored by the National Rural Education Association (NREA) in Washington DC on March 13, 2006. This annual event provides an opportunity for a variety of people concerned with rural education to come together and learn how the work of the legislature, administration, the Department of Education impact of the day-to-day work in rural schools and communities. A variety of presentations by representatives from the American Association of School Administrators, the US Department of Education, central office and school level administrators from rural schools, and staff of the NREA made the day productive and informative.
